Directorial Analysis of an Unseen Text

Availability: In stock.

£35.00

Quick Overview

The photocopiable A4 booklet has been written to help students prepare for WJEC's DA4, their directorial analysis of an unseen text. However, it could be used with any student who wants to create precise design and staging ideas, using accurate terminology.

The booklet prepares students for analysing unseen extracts, using example extracts for them to annotate with their own ideas. It shows
students how to record and justify their visual ideas and understanding of set, lighting, sound and movement.

By working through the booklet students will have a complete understanding of how to draw a ground plan for their set, how to justify costume, fabric and colour choices and how their choices can affect the type of atmosphere created.

It looks at a variety of different stage designs and ground plans such as proscenium, traverse, in the round etc and shows students how to choose a set style appropriate to the extract.

There are numerous pages for students to record their own ideas, when working through one of the example exam-style questions. Each page also contains exam hints and revision questions for students to consider.

It would be a great booklet to photocopy and give to students to work through during their study leave. Likewise, it could be used in class as handouts to compliment your own teaching ideas.

However you use it, we guarantee it will save you hours of planning.
