This A4 photocopiable booklet contains a scheme of work for each year group, all exploring the theme of transformations but each focusing upon a different play:Year 7 tackle Mister Holgado (Christopher William Hill), Year 8, Metamorphosis (Steven Berkoff) and Year 9, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (adapted by David Edgar).
The book provides you with three complete schemes of work: one for Year 7, one for Year 8 and one for Year 9. The schemes are intended to last approximately one half term. Each scheme provides you with 6 lessons of approximately 1 hour duration, providing you with enough planning for a half term.
Looking at key moments from the plays, each scheme is the perfect teaching resource to introduce students to exploration of key themes, analysis of characters and directorial interpretation of texts. Although using the play texts alongside this resource would be beneficial, this resource can be used without the texts themselves. The resource contains both references to sections of the play texts or summaries of the key scenes, should you not have access to the texts.
