This booklet aims to introduce students to a range of theatre and times, starting with Renaissance Theatre, moving through to Elizabethan, Revenge Tragedy, Commedia dell’arte, Jacobean, Restoration theatre right through to the modernist and symbolist theatre of today. Drawing upon many different practitioners and writers, this guide contains a series of student handouts that will serve as great complements to your lessons on historical theatre ideas. Or, they could be used to encourage AS students to research theatre and perhaps draw influence from certain times or styles when devising their own pieces.
